Scheduled Arrival Time:
Locked 4 hours before the scheduled departure time of the flight tied to the RCS (Ready For Carriage) milestone — or the next leg that includes a scheduled arrival time.Actual Arrival Time:
Determined using the ARR event or the next event with a known actual arrival timestamp.Trigger condition:
If Actual Arrival ≥ Scheduled Arrival + 12 hours → your claim is triggered.

❓Is this insurance?
CargoSHIELD+ is a service powered by licensed insurers (Ensuro Re Ltd.) through Otonomi. While we at CargoAi are not licensed insurance brokers, this protection is issued as a parametric insurance policy — with clear payout rules triggered by objective events.
❓What is the “Limit of Coverage” vs. “Risk Limit”?
Risk Limit: The total value covered (e.g., $10,000 for one unit policy).
Limit of Coverage: The actual payout amount pre-defined for this specific shipment (e.g., $500), minus any deductible (0% in our case).
❓Can I update or cancel my booking after purchase?
Yes, but:
If you cancel the shipment, we will cancel and refund the policy.
If the booking changes after the RCS milestone, the scheduled arrival time is locked and used to evaluate potential delays. Changes after RCS won’t affect the protection.
❓What happens if the flight is rerouted?
If your booking is AWB-based (standard on CargoAi), rerouting is covered automatically.
If a single-flight booking is rerouted with more than 48 hours’ notice and no update is sent to Otonomi, the policy may become invalid. Always keep your booking synced with CargoAi.
❓How is the price calculated?
The protection cost varies and is based on:
Historical delay probability
Route and carrier risk profiles
Cargo value and destination
❓What if I have other insurance?
If another insurance provider also covers this delay or damage, the insurer may use subrogation to avoid double payment. However, you still get paid by CargoSHIELD+ quickly, and any recovery is handled in the background between insurers.

No paperwork needed. If the delay condition is met, we notify you automatically and initiate payment. For damage coverage, you may be asked to confirm:
