What is the Pay To Feature?
The Pay To feature allows you to send payments from your CargoWALLET account to:
Another CargoWALLET user
A Guest User (someone not yet registered on CargoWALLET)
An external bank account
Who Can Use the Pay To Feature?
To initiate a Pay To transaction, you must:
Belong to an office with an activated wallet
Hold a role above "Starter" in CargoWALLET (CargoWALLET Roles & Permissions Guide)
Payment Flow
Navigate to the “Pay To” tab in the CargoWALLET navigation bar.
Step 1: Fill Out Transaction Details
Input the amount and currency you want the recipient to receive.
Don’t worry if your wallet holds a different currency; the system will handle the conversion for you.
Files Upload field
If Amount < 5k USD, then the field is optional.
If Amount ≥ 5k USD, then the field is mandatory.
When all the mandatory information has been provided, the next step button becomes clickable.
Step 2: Select the Recipient
Search by the company name or the recipient's email address
NOTE:
In the CargoWALLET Account section, all the “Public” wallets are displayed.
If a wallet is in private mode, it will not be displayed within this card. (How to Manage Your Wallet Privacy Setting)
If the recipient is not yet on cargoWALLET (Guest User)
Enter the recipient's email address (for users who don't yet have an account).
If the email belongs to a guest user (not in our system), you may have the option to send the payment directly to their bank account.
NOTE:
This bank payment option is only available to users who have completed the KYB process. If your KYB is incomplete, the checkbox will be disabled.
When selecting a guest user, a checkbox “I know their bank details” will appear.
If you check this box, you can manually fill in the guest recipient’s bank details.
If you don't know the recipient's bank account or can't access this feature due to incomplete KYB, you can still send the payment. (We will hold the fund until the guest signs up a cargoWALLET.)
Step 3: Choose a Payment Method
You can fund the transaction using
Your Prepaid Balance (default option)
Credit/Debit Card
Local Bank Transfer
International Bank Transfer
Local payment method(s)
NOTE:
The currency you selected in Step 1 will be used first. If there are insufficient funds in that currency, CargoWALLET will auto-select the currency with the highest available balance (real value).
We support payments in the recipient’s currency, plus four additional currencies: EUR, GBP, SGD, USD.
Not all payment methods are available for all currencies.
Available options will appear once you choose a currency from the dropdown.
Fees vary depending on payment method and currency. The total fee will be displayed upfront before you confirm the transaction.

Step 4: Confirm Payment
Review the transaction summary for accuracy.
Click “Confirm Payment” to complete the transaction.
What you see next will depend on the payment method you selected:
Prepaid Balance: You’ll see a payment success screen.
Credit Card / Local Payment Method: You’ll be prompted to enter your card or local payment details.
Bank Transfer: You’ll be shown bank transfer instructions with account details to initiate the transfer manually.
After you confirm the payment, you’ll receive different email notifications depending on the payment method you selected:
If you used your prepaid balance and the payment is successful: Both you (sender) and the recipient will receive a confirmation email. You’ll also be able to track the transaction in your CargoWALLET dashboard.
If you choose a bank transfer method: You will receive an email with the bank account details and payment instructions needed to complete the transaction.
Track Your Pay To Transactions
All Pay To transactions, whether completed, pending, or in progress, can be viewed anytime on your Transactions page. This gives you full visibility into the status of every payment you’ve initiated.
Here’s what each status means
Status | Description |
Waiting for transfer | Payer chose a non-instant payment method and the money is not yet received |
Awaiting Recipient Signup | When payer choose a guest recipient and the recipient has not yet created an active wallet |
Successful | Funds have reached the recipient’s office wallet or bank |
Tips and Reminders
Accuracy Matters: Double-check the currency and amount to match the intended payment.
Fee Transparency: All fees are shown before you confirm the payment.
Recipient Visibility: Only public wallets are searchable.
