How to Perform a Currency Conversion

The Currency Conversion feature allows you to convert your balances from one currency to another within your CargoWALLET, ensuring flexibility in managing funds across different currencies.

1. Access the Currency Conversion Feature

There are two ways to initiate a currency conversion:

  • Click the "Currency Conversion" button in the Wallet Home under the Prepaid Balance section.

  • Click "Pay To" in the navigation bar. → Select "Currency Conversion" in the Transaction Category field.

2. Set Up a Currency Conversion Transaction

  • Ensure "Currency Conversion" is selected in the Transaction Category field.

  • Enter a Transaction Reference.

  • Choose the Currency and Amount you want to convert into.

  • Click "Next" once all required fields are filled.


3. Select the Payment Beneficiary

  • In the Recipient step, your own wallet is pre-selected as the Payment Beneficiary.

  • Click "Continue to Payment" to proceed.

4. Choose a Payment Method

  • In the Payment Method step, select one of your prepaid balances to use for the conversion.

  • Click "Choose Payment Method" to confirm.

5. Review & Confirm the Transaction

  • In the confirmation step, review the transaction details, including fees and the exchange rate.

  • Click "Confirm Payment" to complete the transaction.

How to View Currency Conversion Transactions

1. View in Wallet Home

  • Once the transaction is completed, you can see it under "Latest Transactions" in Wallet Home.

  • Currency conversion transactions are marked with a double-arrow purple icon.

2. View in the Transactions Page

  • Each currency conversion creates two entries in the Transactions page:

    • One OUT transaction (sending funds from your wallet).

    • One IN transaction (receiving funds into your wallet).

  • Fees are recorded only in the OUT transaction.

Email Confirmation

  • A confirmation email is sent once the transaction is successfully completed.
