Who Can Use It?

Anyone with an active CargoWallet account can use this feature regardless of their Role. Even basic users on the Starter plan can access "Get Paid."

Where to Access "Get Paid"

1. Navigate to the "Get Paid" option in your CargoWallet dashboard.

2. Click the "Next" button to start creating a payment request.

Creating a Payment Request

This involves three simple steps:

  1. Fill in transaction details
Enter the amount, currency, and purpose of the payment.

2. Select a Payer

  • Option 1: Choose a payer from your CargoWallet contact list.

  • Option 2: Enter the payer's email address. If the payer isn’t registered, they’ll receive an email with instructions to complete the payment.

3. Submit your request.

Review all details carefully, then click "Submit" to create the payment request.

Once submitted, the payer will be notified via:

  1. A payment link (accessible on the request success screen).

2. An email notification (you’ll be CC’d for reference). This email includes the payment link as well.

3. The payer's Transactions page in CargoWallet.

Use the filter to select the “Waiting for your payment'’ tab. Click the icon under the Actions column and click “Pay” to continue.

Receiving Payments

After you create a request, the payer can complete the payment using one of several methods mentioned above by clicking on the payment link.

  1. Transaction

The first step the payer will see with all the detail set by the requester. These fields are non-editable.

2. Recipient
The payer will see the requester’s office at this step. It is non-editable either.

3. Payment Method
The payer will choose a payment method for this request depending on the currencies that the payer chooses to pay with.
Payment Methods Supported:

  • Prepaid Balance: Pay using the payer's CargoWallet balance.

  • Debit/Credit Card: instant payment method available for most currencies.

  • Local Payment Methods: This is an instant payment method available for some currencies.

  • Bank Transfers (Local & International): Non-instant payment method available for some currencies.

4. Confirmation

At the confirmation step, the payer reviews the payment details and completes the transaction. The next steps vary depending on the selected payment method:

  • Prepaid Balance: The transaction is completed instantly, and the payer is redirected to the success screen.

  • Debit/Credit Card: A modal prompts the payer to input card details. Once completed, the transaction processes in seconds, and the payer is redirected to the success screen.

  • Local Payment Method: The payer completes the transaction via a modal, and upon completion, is redirected to the success screen.

  • Bank Transfers (Local & International): The payer receives bank transfer details in a modal. Upon clicking “OK”:

    • The transaction status updates to "Waiting for Transfer."

    • An email with the transfer details (link) is sent to the payer to complete the transfer.

Note that if the payer doesn’t complete the payment before the due date, then the transaction status will become overdue.

Get Paid Statuses

What do the different statuses mean?

  1. Requested: The getPaid request has been created, but the payer has not selected a payment method yet.

  2. Waiting for Transfer: The payer chose a non-instant payment method (e.g., bank or international bank transfer), and we have not yet received the funds.

  3. Success: The transaction was completed successfully.

  4. Overdue: The payment wasn’t completed before the due date.

  5. Cancelled: The requester canceled the getPaid request.
