Is the CO2 Efficiency Score a new standard?
No — it is not a new standard. We are well aware that the proliferation of CO2 standards already confuses the industry, and we did not want to add to that.
What it actually measures
The CO2 Efficiency Score shows how efficient a given shipment is in CO2 terms compared to every other route and aircraft available at the time of booking.
- 100% = the most optimized route and aircraft — i.e. the lowest possible CO2 emissions for that shipment.
- Lower percentages indicate increasingly less CO2-efficient options.
Where you can see it
The score is displayed in real time during the booking flow on CargoMART, and is also available in the Cargo2ZERO analytics tools to help you report on and improve the environmental footprint of your operations.
